James Theophane will be guest lecturing at Bond University Faculty of Society & Design or students studying ‘Consumption, Experience, and Design’.
The lecture will be for a postgraduate students interested in becoming either Art Directors or Strategic Planners studying ‘Consumption, Experience, and Design’ and include a warm up creative exercise encouraging the students to incorporate design thinking into interactive concepting. This will be a hands-on workshop requiring the teams to think laterally and present ideas back in an engaging manner.
The group will then be taken an exploration of key interactive channels and touch points available today (and tomorrow) and the roles/opportunities for creative within. A deep-dive into four case studies from James’s book including work that has won a grand prix, work that has picked up golds at Cannes, humanitarian awards and work that has won gold effies for effectiveness. And receive an in-depth insight into how the ideas were developed, the difficulties faced, and how the work is subsequently positioned in the portfolio space.
The lecture ends on a portfolio session; here we discuss best practices and engage in one-to-one sessions with to discuss the portfolios as they currently stand, and give tips and advice on improvement.

James is also an industry consultant to UTS, Head of Art and part time lecturer at Miami Ad School and is a regular keynote speaker at events such as Vivid Sydney, Festival of Light, Music & Ideas and UTS Design Talks Lecture Series.· · · · · ·
